Today's Announcement: What Does Student Engagement Mean to You?

"Ogden with frisbee," by Jared and Corin
Thanks again to those of you who are taking the time to leave comments, complete the practice improvisation, and look through the other Getting Started materials (and, by the way, I really love some of the suggestions like “sand scooper” and “cheese wheel” for the improv practice in “The Art of Improvisation”).

As a reminder, the purpose of this week is really just to help everyone become accustomed to the platform and the activities. Next week we’ll dive in deeper to student engagement, how it happens, and what we can do to facilitate it.

And peaking of student engagement, one of the things I am hoping to do as part of this learning experience is start a collection of personal statements on the subject. As examples, here are statements from Laura Gibbs (What Do We Talk About When We Talk About Student Engagement?) and me (What Is Student Engagement). I welcome all of the participants in Power of Connections community to add to this collection as well. Simply record your thoughts in your blog, a G+ post, or via some other media (such as video or audio), and please use our hashtag, #NTPoC.
